The first mate, Keenan Hilsinger, has grown up on boats. A native of the Maine Coast, he has become an accomplished sailor, rower and power boat operator. |
He sails the 21’ pocket cruiser, Martha, formerly E. B. White’s boat, solo along the coast of Penobscot Bay. His exploits in this venture have been chronicled in a recent issue of Small Boats Magazine.
Keenan has crewed on four boats in the Eggemoggin Reach Regatta, often winning their class. Keenan has learned the complex waters off Stonington and Deer Isle very well under a variety of challenging weather conditions. When available to help, he is a real addition to the enjoyment of the trip. |
